Adobe Lightroom. It has transformed the way I work and helped me to become a better photographer. I can almost guarantee that it will do the same for you.

We will concentrate in Develop module processing both your images and mine. I will teach you many tips and shortcuts that will enhance workflow and your final outcome. This is a hands on workshop. You will work along on your laptop.

In this digital age, organization is the name of the game. Lightroom has helped me manage my growing library of 107,000 images. Here is an efficient workflow that has gotten me back to what I love to do best... taking pictures.

Below are just a few of the the topics we will cover in Lightroom 201:

  • Expert image processing in Develop
  • Fearless image experimentation
  • Retouching like an expert
  • Photoshop (or some other editing program) and Lightroom married
  • Creative and powerful database manipulations in collections
  • Showcasing your work in Slide Show, Print module or Publish
  • Storage and backup issues (and solutions)

Notes: I will be using Lightroom version 5 but this class is appropriate for users of LR3, and 4 as well. Also note that the workshop is not for beginners. It is expected that students already know their way around Lightroom.

The instructor: I am is a professional photographer with over 30 years of experience in both image making and photo education. More about me on http://www.armorphoto.com. 99% of the images on my website have been processed in Lightroom.

Here's what others had to say about my Lightroom class:

It was a great pleasure to attend your Lightroom class and give my photography a giant boost. It was excellent in all respects, 5 stars. I would recommend it to anyone who uses the program. Thank You Very Much. -- Ken Dore

Do you remember I mentioned I was coming to your workshop because I wanted to learn more about the Print Module in Lightroom2? To that point  and as a result of your excellent teaching I have just completely redone all my Images - in the portfolio I showed you.  No need to respond but as a former teacher myself I always appreciated it when a former student acknowledged that they had learned something from me. Thanks, Jan -- David Pinkham

From Patty Weiss, retired teacher, grandmother, and avid amateur photographer: "I found the  Lightroom class to be what I expected and more. Lightroom is a software that is difficult to explore on one’s own. Jan Armor is a gifted teacher and guide through the interface of the software. He is able to guide students with varying computer and camera knowledge all at the same time, and in the same class."

And from experienced fine art photographer Eric Hovermale: "As a longtime Lightroom user, I cannot say enough about how useful your class was to me. In addition to learning much that I didn't know, I learned better and more efficient ways to accomplish what I've already been doing. I recommend your class to anyone who is already using or considering using Lightroom. If you're still processing your images in Photoshop and Bridge, there's a whole new world out there…"
