Rhode Island is not exempt from hunger. Far from it. There many homeless and food insecure families in our state. Some are pictured in this video taken at the Sunday Friendship Breakfast in Providence. Fortunately there are safety nets. Farmers and Master Gardeners grow produce for Jonnycake Center's Farmer's Market and Food Pantry. The RI Food Bank distributes tons of food to many locations throughout the state, including to many kids at the East Providence Boys and Girls Club. Thankfully teens and seniors pitch in to help while corporations offer financial support. Folks from Southern RI Volunteers deliver "Meals On Wheels" to homebound seniors. Families from The Good Shepard Lutheran Church peel potatoes that turn into home fries that feed the homeless.

Here is a link to other pictures that includes some of the people who care and some  in need. This is Rhode Island's hunger crisis. Maybe you can help.
